Kirkwood, Mo, November 8, 2024 –
Following incumbent Barb Phifer’s departure to run for secretary of state, voters in Missouri’s District 90 have chosen Democrat Mark Boyko of Kirkwood to represent them in the Missouri House of Representatives.
District 90 encompasses parts of the Kirkwood, Webster Groves, Lindbergh, Parkway and Valley Park school districts.
Boyko, 44, received 13,599 votes, or 60.6% of the total votes. His opponent, Republican Scott Mathewson, came up short with 8,834 votes, or about 39.4%.
“I appreciate everyone who voted, volunteered or put their name on a ballot, regardless of party, for continuing to believe our common good is worth their investment,” Boyko said following his win. “I am confident in Missouri’s bright future and look forward to working toward it.”
Boyko is an attorney with Bailey Glasser, LLP, where he represents workers and retirees to protect their retirement savings from Wall Street abuses. He lives in Kirkwood with his wife and 15-year-old daughter, and also has a son in college.
Boyko is nearing the end of his second term on the Kirkwood School District Board of Education. His term ends in 2025.
